Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is currently one of the most popular personality tests around
the
globe. Initially inspired by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs
Myers further developed this test from the original theory to be a more accessible test to the general public.
Given the peaking popularity of the MBTI test among teenagers, we thus propose a visualization system that
shows
the
global distribution of different traits (I/E, N/S, T/F, J/P). As is visualized below, the
darker, the higher I/N/T/J value.
Trait indicates “Attitudes“: introversion (I) / extraversion
(E).
Trait indicates “Perceiving Functions“: intuition (N) / sensation
(S).
Trait indicates “Judging Functions“: thinking (T) / feeling (F).
Trait indicates “Lifestyle Preferences“: judging (J) /perception
(P).
Thanks to the dataset from Kaggle, Spotify musical preferences of different personality types for both explanatory purposes and recommendations are also visualized in our system. We juxtapose musical features of playlists created for different MBTI types, as well as give an overview of type distribution with regard to regions.
